Welcome to the website for WSHS's Choirs!
The Choral program at West Springfield High School (Springfield, Virginia) has a proud tradition and strong commitment to excellence. Choirs from WSHS have often excelled in regional, state, and national competitions, many times earning superior ratings.
Our belief is that music and the arts are among keys to a full life—they are not just “elective” or “extra-curricular.” Choral music equips students with valuable life skills that today's students will put to use long after they leave high school:
- teamwork;
- performance and presentation skills;
- building friendships and camaraderie;
- setting and accomplishing goals (both corporate and individual);
- connecting how a consistent commitment to excellence, shown in the effort one puts forth on stage and off, moves one to a success beyond what can be achieved on the basis of talent alone.
And all this can be gained while having loads of fun during these key high school years. That's a part of what makes participating in our choral program so special.

Wednesday, February 15, 2012 ~ 7:00 p.m. ~ Pyramid Concert
Please join us for our WSHS “Pyramid” Concert, featuring all choral ensembles from WSHS (Madrigals, Personality Show Choir, Ladies’ Select, Musical Theater Ensemble, and Spartan Choir), and also choirs from Washington Irving Middle School as well as choirs from select elementary schools.
Wednesday, February 15, beginning at 7:00 PM. Admission is free.

Monday, March 5, 3:30-5:30 p.m. - general workshop
Tuesday, March 6 - vocal auditions, beginning at 2:45 p.m.
Wednesday, March 7 - dance auditions,
beginning at 2:45 p.m.
Tuesday, March 13 - solo audition, beginning at 2:45
Wednesday, March 14 - group audition, beginning at 2:45
- all auditions begin at 2:45 p.m. in the Chorus Room (Room 188)
